Refund and Returns Policy
Effective Date: July 17, 2026
This Refund & Returns Policy applies to purchases made through www.thescholarstreasure.org. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and any transaction-specific terms provided for private collection acquisitions.
If you have questions about a purchase, return, refund, or private acquisition, please contact us at info@thescholarstreasure.org before sending any item back.
1. Standard Online Store Purchases
For eligible books, publications, merchandise, and other standard products purchased directly through The Scholars’ Treasure online store, we generally accept return requests made within 30 days of delivery.
To be eligible for a standard return, the item must be unused, unread or in substantially new condition, and returned with any original packaging, materials, accessories, or documentation supplied with the order.
We reserve the right to decline a return or reduce a refund when an item shows material signs of use, damage, alteration, missing components, or other conditions not caused by The Scholars’ Treasure or the shipping carrier.
2. Books and Publications
Books and printed publications may generally be returned within 30 days of delivery if they remain in new or substantially new, resaleable condition.
Books showing substantial wear, writing, highlighting, staining, torn or damaged pages, altered covers, missing components, or other signs of significant use may not qualify for a full refund.
If you receive a book that is defective, materially damaged in transit, or different from the item you ordered, please contact us promptly so that we can assist with a replacement, refund, or other appropriate resolution.
3. Private Collection Acquisitions
Collectible writing instruments and other objects offered through The Scholars’ Treasure Collection are handled differently from ordinary retail merchandise.
Because these items may be rare, limited-edition, previously owned, unique, high-value, or available in quantities of one, each private acquisition may be subject to transaction-specific terms provided before the transaction is completed.
Those terms may address matters including condition, inspection opportunities, pricing, payment, shipping, insurance, cancellation, return eligibility, restocking or transaction costs, and whether the acquisition is final sale.
Submitting an acquisition inquiry does not itself create a purchase, reservation, or right to return an item. Any applicable return or cancellation rights for a private collection acquisition will be communicated before the purchaser completes that transaction.
If transaction-specific written terms conflict with this general Refund & Returns Policy with respect to a private acquisition, the transaction-specific terms will control to the extent of that conflict.
4. Condition of Collectible Items
Prospective acquirers of collectible items are encouraged to carefully review product descriptions, condition information, photographs, specifications, and any available documentation before completing a purchase.
Additional photographs, details, or clarification may be requested before completing a private acquisition.
Because collectible items may exhibit age, prior handling, storage characteristics, production variations, patina, or other condition factors consistent with their history, such characteristics do not necessarily constitute defects when they have been reasonably disclosed before purchase.
5. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
If an item arrives materially damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at info@thescholarstreasure.org.
Please retain the product, original packaging, shipping materials, and any available documentation until the issue has been reviewed.
We may request photographs or other reasonable information regarding the item and packaging so that we can evaluate the issue and, where appropriate, assist with a carrier or insurance claim.
If the problem is confirmed to have resulted from our error or from covered shipping damage, we may provide a replacement, refund, repair arrangement, or other appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances and availability of the item.
6. Return Authorization
Please contact The Scholars’ Treasure before returning any product.
Do not send an item back to the manufacturer or to an address obtained from product packaging unless we specifically instruct you to do so.
After reviewing your request, we may provide return instructions, an authorized return address, packaging requirements, and any other information necessary to process the return.
Items returned without authorization or to an incorrect address may experience delays and may not qualify for reimbursement of additional shipping or handling costs.
7. Return Shipping
For ordinary returns based on preference or change of mind, the customer is generally responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable for change-of-mind returns, except where required by law or where the return results from an error by The Scholars’ Treasure.
For damaged, defective, or incorrect orders caused by our error, we may provide or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs as appropriate.
When returning an item, particularly a valuable item, we strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing adequate shipping insurance. The sender is responsible for properly packaging and returning the item until it is received at the authorized return destination, except where applicable law or transaction-specific terms provide otherwise.
8. High-Value Collectible Returns
Do not return a high-value collectible writing instrument without first receiving specific written return instructions from The Scholars’ Treasure.
Authorized returns of collectible items may require insured shipping, adult signature confirmation, specialized packaging, tracking, or other protective measures.
Any applicable insurance, shipping responsibility, inspection procedures, or return conditions for a private acquisition will be governed by the written terms applicable to that transaction.
9. Refund Review and Inspection
Once an authorized return is received, we will inspect the item and notify you regarding the status of the return.
If the return is approved, the refund will generally be issued to the original method of payment unless another method is required by law or agreed upon in writing.
Refund processing times vary depending on the payment processor, card issuer, bank, or other financial institution. The time required for a refund to appear in your account may therefore extend beyond the date on which The Scholars’ Treasure initiates the refund.
10. Partial Refunds
Where permitted by applicable law, a partial refund may be appropriate when an eligible returned item is received in a condition materially different from the condition in which it was originally shipped.
Examples may include items showing significant use, damage, alteration, missing packaging, missing accessories or documentation, or other loss in condition not caused by The Scholars’ Treasure or the shipping carrier.
Any deduction will be determined reasonably based on the condition of the returned item and the circumstances of the return.
11. Exchanges
Exchanges may be available for eligible standard products when replacement inventory exists.
Because many collectible writing instruments and private collection items are unique or available only in quantities of one, an identical replacement may not be available.
If an eligible item cannot be replaced, we may offer another appropriate resolution, including a refund where applicable.
12. Sale and Promotional Items
Unless a product page, promotion, or transaction-specific term states otherwise, sale or promotional pricing does not automatically make an otherwise eligible standard retail product non-returnable.
Any product that is designated as final sale or subject to a different return policy will be identified before purchase.
13. Gift Purchases
Eligible items purchased as gifts may be returned in accordance with this Policy.
Unless otherwise arranged, refunds are generally issued to the original method of payment used for the purchase rather than directly to the gift recipient.
Please contact us if you need assistance with a gift return so that we can review the available options.
14. Non-Returnable Items
Certain items may not be eligible for return, including:
- Digital products or downloadable content after access or delivery, except where required by law;
- Gift cards or similar stored-value products, except where required by law;
- Personalized, customized, or made-to-order items unless defective or materially different from what was ordered;
- Items specifically identified as final sale before purchase;
- Items materially altered, damaged, or modified after delivery;
- Private collection acquisitions governed by transaction-specific final-sale terms; and
- Other items that applicable law permits us to designate as non-returnable.
15. Order Cancellations
If you need to cancel a standard online-store order, please contact us as soon as possible.
If the order has not yet entered fulfillment or shipped, we may be able to cancel it and issue an appropriate refund.
Once an order has shipped, it will generally be handled under the return provisions of this Policy.
Private collection acquisitions may have separate cancellation terms communicated before completion of the transaction.
16. Shipping Delays and Unavailable Merchandise
We make reasonable efforts to ship online orders within the timeframe communicated at checkout or otherwise presented with the order.
If we are unable to ship an online order within a promised timeframe, we will handle the delay, cancellation options, and any required refund in accordance with applicable law.
If no specific shipping timeframe is stated, federal rules generally require online sellers to have a reasonable basis to expect shipment within 30 days. If shipment cannot occur within the required or promised timeframe, the customer may need to be given the opportunity to agree to the delay or cancel for a refund.
17. Lost or Undelivered Orders
If tracking indicates that an order has been lost, materially delayed, or otherwise not delivered, please contact us so that we can review the shipment with the applicable carrier.
If merchandise cannot be delivered or fulfilled, refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable law, carrier or insurance procedures, and any transaction-specific terms.
18. Late or Missing Refunds
If you have been notified that a refund was issued but it has not yet appeared in your account, please allow reasonable processing time for your bank, payment processor, or card issuer.
You may wish to contact your financial institution to determine whether the refund is still pending.
If a reasonable processing period has passed and you still have not received the refund, please contact us at info@thescholarstreasure.org.
19. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
We encourage customers to contact The Scholars’ Treasure directly regarding an order, return, refund, delivery concern, or transaction dispute before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
Nothing in this section limits any lawful rights you may have through your payment provider or under applicable law.
20. Consumer Rights
This Policy is intended to describe The Scholars’ Treasure’s general return and refund practices. It does not limit any refund, cancellation, warranty, or other consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
Where applicable law provides protections greater than those described in this Policy, the applicable legal requirements will control.
21. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund & Returns Policy periodically to reflect changes in our products, business practices, Website features, or applicable requirements.
The version posted on the Website at the time of purchase, together with any applicable transaction-specific terms, will generally govern that transaction except where applicable law requires otherwise.
